A rare 1965 Amphicar has been discovered in a barn in Kansas USA. This car has covered just 3227 miles from new but requires total restoration. When completed it will certainly be a valuable and unusual classic for the new owner.

Personal Plate sells for £285,000 !

The personalised UK registration plate '1 D' has sold for a record £285,000.
Lebanese property developer Nabil Bishara bought the plate at a DVLA auction in Warwickshire for his wife. He will fit it to her Bentley as a surprise present.
The cost of the plate rises to £352,411 with fees and VAT.
The sum beat the DVLA's previous record of £254,000 for the registration 51 NGH in 2006.

Citroen DS 23ie Chapron Sells for £295,000 !

At the recent February Retromobile auction in Paris by Bonhams, one rare Citroen sold for a high bid of 337,500 Euros (about £295,000). This a record a Citroen. The car in question is a rare 1973 DS23ie, converted by coachbuilder Henri Chapron to a convertible – one of three DS23 convertibles built,the only one with fuel injection.
The attractive lines of the special drop-top DS prompted Citroen to add a convertible option to their regular DS range, selling 1365 examples over the course of some fifteen years.

Minis In World Record Success

An attempt by the Dutch Mini People Foundation to break the record for the largest parade of Minis has been confirmed a success by Guinness World Records.
A total of 884 Minis took part in Lelystad,The Netherlands.
The International Mini Meeting attracted Minis and their owners from fifteen countries, all taking part in the P & O Ferries Mini World Record Attempt.
The Dutch Mini People Foundation later received confirmation of the official Guinness World Record.
With 2009 being the 50th anniversary of the Mini we may see an attempt during this year to break this record.
